- Old-Tatar Sloboda , one of the famous sights of the city. It was built by Ivan the Terrible after the siege of Kazan in 1552. The first people living here were tatars who took part in the siege
- Lake Kaban where the chest with innumerous treasures is situated. The legend says that the chest was hidden on the bottom of the lake during the siege of Kazan
- The central streets of the city of Kazan that were visited by Pushkin, Gorky, Tolstoy and other outstanding people of culture and art
- The Exaltation of the Cross Church with the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, one of the most revered shrines in Russia. In 2004 Vatican returned the Kazan Icon to Patriarch Alexy II and since that time thousands of pilgrims and tourists come here to touch the miraculous icon
- National complex “Tugan Avylym” that means “Native Village” in the Tatar language. Here you can find a restaurant with the traditional tatar cuisine, a pancake café with the Russian stove and guest houses decorated in the Tatar style, you can attend different master-classes and interactive programs
- The Kazan Kremlin is the chief sight of the Republic of Tatarstan, now it is the object of the UNESCO heritage. The whole territory of the Kremlin is the museum-reserve where a lot of museums, Kul Sharif Mosque, Suyumbike Tower and other historical places are found
- Shishkin Memorial House Museum. Here you feel the atmosphere of the provincial merchant life of the 19th century. On the second floor there is a workshop and a living room of the artist that are preserved till our days. In the two halls of the museum there is a picture galley where you can see Shishkin’s original picturesque and graphic works
- Marina Tsvetaeva Museum, the exhibition of the museum tells us about the works and the life of the poetess. We will find out about important events from her life: meeting Sergei Efron, giving birth to her 2 children, her 17-year-old emigration to the Czech Republic and France. In the museum we can also see her works that were published during her life. We also see here the works of her contemporaries – A. Akhmatova, N. Gumilev, A. Blok, O. Mandelstam and others
- The great pride of the museum are the personal things that belonged to Marina Tsvetaeva – tea spoons, paper for notes, a cameo – a gift from her father, a dish that she bought in Germany in 1922; Tsvetaeva’s lock of hair and a powder box of her daughter Ariadna. We can also read here the copies of Tsvetaeva’s letters, that are now kept in the archives of the interior ministry of the Soviet Union
- The museum of Nadezhda Durovova, (for extra fee). She was a hero of the Great Patriotic War of 1812, the first Russian woman officer and writer, she had the medal of field marshal Kutuzov. In the five halls of the museum you learn a lot about Durova’s family and friends, and about the time she lived in
- The Bekhterev Museum (for extra fee). The interiors of the house of the famous doctor, his office, pharmacy, mental hospital, operating and children’s department are created here. You also learn about the history of the development of health care starting from the 19th century till our days
